An obscure entity has been lurking in the shadows of the Hellenic black metal underground for a decade, perfecting its musical expression. Finally, Vacantfield are ready to rise and bring their unique take on avantgarde black metal to the public. Their 20-minute three track debut mini-album Iteration combines inventive yet curiously catchy riffing, inspired drumming, diverse vocals and an array of creative elements spicing things up. A must for fans of innovative and diverse black metal with a touch of classic melody without turning saccharine.

Vacantfield was created by M.X.T. and Draenzarth of End (Gr), in 2001. The band started as an experimental project, beyond the traditional black metal borders, but was at the same time influenced by the great artists of this music genre. Even though plenty of material was composed during these years, the band entered the studio 4 years later, at 2005, to record its first full-length album with Grahelm (End) on drums. Due to the low budget and some personal reasons, the recordings delayed quite long. During this time, M.X.T. decided to make the sound of Vacantfield more aggressive. As a result, the first fulllength never came out. Draenzarth left the band and after some years of inertia, Vacantfield entered the studio in 2009 to record new material in the form of a 20-minute mini-cd, named Iteration. New members joined the band, making the release of Iteration possible; Domu (He’s Turning Blue), Maelstrom (Cross Denied, Abyssgale, Nadiwrath, Dodsferd) and Edrha (He’s Turning Blue).
