The
band was found in 1994 as Dan met Pir for the first time and they began
to start to rehearse together for their new band. Because of always
changing the rehearsal rooms, lack of time and problems to find a good
bassist, there were huge problematics to run the band at the beginning.
In 2000 the band was immediately stopped because of the death of Dan's
father. In the same time period Pir had a dramatical car accident and
was forced to stay in hospital for a long time.
In
2008 the band met together to start at the point again, where they
stopped. 2009 finally the first demo cassette with the same title
"Morast" was recorded and released. In 2010 Simon from the luxemborgian
Black Metal band BLACK CANDLE joined MORAST as bassist. With him MORAST
recorded the second demo cassette with the title "Schankebösch", which
was not released until now.
In
this time perioid MORAST had several live rituals. In September of 2011
Simon quit the band because he was forced for lack of time. In 2012,
finally the third demo was recorded... "Dead out from Graves".
The
band was inspired by AUTOPSY, ASPHYX, BATHORY, BLACK SABBATH,
HELLHAMMER/CELTIC FROST, VENOM, SLAYER (till 1985), MAYHEM
(Deathcrush, DMDS), CANDLEMASS, DIVINE EVE, 1.CATHEDRAL, WINTER....
MORAST
celebrates rotten Death/Doom in the vein of early 1990's !
