DEFUNTOS are back and invite you over to join the eternal dance of death (A Eterna Dança da Morte)! The newest masterpiece of this Portuguese band leaves no desire unfulfilled: cutting guitars, monotonous drums and a voice sounding like the Portuguese black counterpart to the Argentinian in the white robe.

DEFUNTOS create an atmosphere of death and show the limits of life by taking the listener on an aural trip through the Capela dos Ossos (The Bone Chapel) in Portugal. The world of DEFUNTOS is cloaked in a dense grey fog. But there are many tinges of grey, reflected in the heaviness of the songs that slowly spreads over the listener. This is created by the pulsating melodies of the bass guitar in combination with the rhythms of the powerful drums.

DEFUNTOS offer (active since 2005) a high quality consistency in their releases and create a morbid and unique mood through the nostalgic sound of their Doom and Black Metal creations no other band could ever compete with. So let’s follow DEFUNTOS into a forgotten world of reminiscence where time stands still.

Every release of this band spreads out the black poison within the crowd of fans, but ‘A Eterna Dança da Morte’ is the cup of hemlock of the Black/Doom Metal subgenre. DEFUNTOS’ six songs and the intro have been composed and recorded in-between 1915 and 1916. February 1916 gave the final polishes to the sound in the Empty Hall studios in Spain. The album will be released on CD including a 12-page booklet, on heavy vinyl in two editions and as a digital download.

DEFUNTOS sind zurück und sie laden zum ewigen Tanz des Todes (A Eterna Dança da Morte)! Das neueste Meisterwerk der portugiesischen Band lässt keine Wünsche offen: Sägende, beißende Saiten, monotone Drums, die einen tranceartigen Zustand hervorrufen, und eine Stimme, die wie das portugiesische schwarze Gegenstück zum Argentinier in der weißen Robe klingt. 

DEFUNTOS erschaffen eine Atmosphäre, die einem unweigerlich den Tod und die Endlichkeit des Lebens vor Augen führt, indem sie den Hörer mit auf die akustische Reise durch das Capela dos Ossos (Beinhaus) in Portugal nimmt. Die Welt von DEFUNTOS ist verhüllt durch einen dichten grauen Nebel. Aber er besteht aus unzähligen Schattierungen von Grau, widergespiegelt in der Schwere der Lieder, die sich langsam über dem Hörer ausbreitet, hervorgerufen durch die pulsierenden Bass-Melodien, deren Rhythmen vom kraftvollen Schlagzeug tief in den Hörer getragen werden.

Das Herausragende an DEFUNTOS, die seit 2005 aktiv sind, ist nicht nur das konsequent hohe Niveau ihrer Veröffentlichungen, sondern dass sie mit ihrem nostalgisch klingenden und verschmelzenden Mix aus Doom & Black Metal eine morbide einzigartige Stimmung kreieren, von der andere Bands nur träumen können. Begleiten wir also DEFUNTOS in eine nostalgisch geprägte und vergessene Welt, in der die Zeit stehen geblieben ist.

Hat die Band auch vorher ihr schwarzes Gift bravourös unter ihre Hörerschaft gemischt, so haben sie mit ‚A Eterna Dança da Morte‘ den Schierlinsgbecher im Bereich Black/Doom Metal erschaffen. Komponiert und aufgenommen wurden die sechs Lieder nebst Intro zwischen 1915 und 1916. Im Februar selbigen Jahres wurde dem Material im spanischen Empty Hall Studio der letzte Schliff verpasst. Das Album erscheint als CD - mit 12 seitigem Booklet, als schweres Vinyl – in zwei Editionen und als Digital Version.
